Underground Pipeline Flow Meter

The QYF-RA02 Underground Pipeline Flow Meter is specifically designed for continuous flow and water level monitoring in urban underground drainage networks, stormwater systems, rivers, and wastewater outfalls. By integrating advanced radar and ultrasonic measurement technologies, it delivers accurate flow and water level measurements under challenging conditions, including both full-pipe and partially filled pipe applications, while eliminating blind-zone limitations. Its compact, rugged design enables quick installation, requires minimal maintenance, and ensures reliable long-term operation even in harsh field environments.

underground pipeline flow meterThe QYF-RA02 Radar Ultrasonic Flow Meter is an intelligent online monitoring device specifically designed for underground drainage networks. It provides accurate flow measurement across all water level conditions, including both partially filled and full-pipe applications.

Under partially filled pipe conditions, the meter utilizes 24 GHz or 60 GHz radar technology to measure flow velocity and water level. Built-in hydraulic models and advanced algorithms automatically calculate instantaneous flow rate and totalized flow. When the water level rises to a high level or the pipe becomes completely full, the device automatically switches to a high-precision pressure-based level sensor combined with 2 MHz ultrasonic Doppler technology to measure water level and flow velocity, ensuring accurate calculation of both instantaneous and cumulative flow.

This hybrid underground flow meter delivers reliable measurement performance that is unaffected by ambient temperature, atmospheric pressure, surface vapor, water contaminants, or sediment.

The QYF-RA02 features a compact design, ultra-low power consumption, and excellent waterproof and corrosion-resistant construction. It is easy to install, requires minimal maintenance, and combines the advantages of both contact and non-contact measurement technologies to provide comprehensive, blind-zone-free monitoring in demanding underground environments.

Measurement data is transmitted via an RS485 interface using the standard MODBUS RTU protocol, ensuring seamless integration with SCADA systems, PLCs, and other industrial control platforms.

The Radar Ultrasonic Flow Meter consists of three main components: a radar flow measurement module, an ultrasonic flow measurement module, and a control unit. The operating principle is illustrated in the diagram.
